I hope I’ve caught you while you’re on the couch enjoying the blur between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Starting next year, I’m doing a daily tech news letter called The Sizzle. Created by Anthony Agius nine years ago, he’s handballed it over to me so he can go off on new adventures.
Starting Jan 6 (an auspicious date I’ll admit) I’ll be writing to you every weekday to share the top tech news, both from Australia and the rest of the world, as well as some other stuff like tech deals and some fun stuff.
I’m doing this on top of my reporting at Crikey — so please keep sending me your tips/leaks/story ideas to me — but this gives me a chance to do something a bit different. I want it to be the place for Australians to find out what they want or need to know about tech.
Right now, it feels like we’re in a moment where everything is changing in tech. Australia’s smaller media scene means there’s so many important stories in tech that go undercovered and unexplained in Australia and there’s no way to stay across everything without it becoming a full-time job. The Sizzle is the answer to this, whether you work in tech or are just fascinated with it.
